Basic Function: Responsible for General Finance Office functions for the APHIAplus project in Nakuru, Rift Valley Province.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Management of internally managed sub agreements.
  • Review and processing of payments to vendors.

  • Preparation of office monthly financial reports.
  • Reconciliation of balance sheet accounts - Travel, program, petty cash & bank.
  • Review and prepare budgets for project activities.

Minimum Requirements:
  • University degree in Commerce or Business Accounting or CPA (K).
  • Minimum five years of progressive working experience in similar environment with adequate exposure to project accounting, financial management including budgeting, grants and contracts.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
  • A good command of oral and written English language.
  • Experience working with an international organization will be an added advantage.
Senior Data Manager, Monitoring and Evaluation

Location: APHIAplus Project - Rift Valley Province - Kenya

Basic Function:

The Senior Data Manager will be part of the M&E team at APHIAplus and will work under the supervision of the Associate Director M&E.

He/she will manage and maintain a comprehensive information resource for programs, ensure consistency and integrity of data; oversee collection and reporting of complex, related information.

Interpret data, including statistical values, and provide advice and consultation regarding implications.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide ongoing support and guidance to project and implementing partner staff on indicator definitions, routine data collection, collation and reporting according to GOK and USAID requirements.
  • Implement USG Results Management guidelines at both project and implementing partner level in all data management activities.
  • Provide technical guidance in designing, development and use of data capture tools to meet project requirements.
  • Develop and design a functional system for collecting, organizing, interpreting and classifying information for input into electronic databases.
  • Coordination of collection of USAID’s/APHIAplus program activities data from the five site offices.
  • Perform needs assessment and work with information systems personnel at project and implementing partner level to determine feasibility of development of new databases and enhancements or modifications to existing databases.
  • Develop/enhance information systems to capture, transmit, store, retrieve, manipulate and display information with accompanying Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Offer technical support in management of project data base to meet data requirements for APHIAplus and other stakeholders.
  • Assist in the compilation of quarterly, semi and annual reports to the USAID and ad hoc program data and reports.
  • Build the capacity of project and partner staff on data management and Monitoring & Evaluation.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned from time to time.

  • Degree in Biostatistics, Statistics, Computer Science, Demography, Epidemiology, Public Health, Mathematics or a related field.
  • MS/MA with 3-5 years relevant experience or BA/BS/Degree with 5-7 years progressive work experience.
  • Computer proficiency in word processing, databases, spreadsheets, including advanced skills in at least two of the following programs: SPSS, Excel, Epi Info, Stata, Ms Access and MS_SQL.

Basic Function:

The Senior Data Manager will coordinate data management and analysis focusing specifically on developing and maintaining systems for collecting and managing data to measure a regional project’s (ROADS II) implementation, quality assurance, documentation and reporting.

The ROADS project implements HIV/AIDS prevention and mitigation programs in several countries in East, central and Southern Africa region.

He/she will build capacity of country teams in designing/ revising data collection tools, management and use of data management.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical assistance in data management and analysis.
  • Oversee project Management of Information Systems (MIS).
  • Analyze, design, develop and deploy applications for capturing, managing and reporting project data.
  • Improve and maintain project applications.
  • Design and develop relational databases for new project initiatives.
  • Coordinate and monitor quality control for project data through but not limited to enforcing and monitoring both relational and temporal consistency checks in databases.
  • Offer technical assistance and build capacity of ROADS II staff, strategic and implementing partners in designing and implementing standardized data management systems.
  • Produce regular, periodic and ad hoc reports through, but not limited to writing views to retrieve data for analysis as well as convert data to formats required by program and technical teams.
  • Offer technical support in database management to meet regional and country data requirements for FHI 360/ROADS II program and technical staff and partners.
  • Participate in design, development and testing of project data collection tools.
  • Assist in the compilation of quarterly, annual and ad hoc program data and reports.
  • Advice and promote best practices in data management and analysis.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned from time to time.

Essential Qualifications and skills:
  • An LLB degree from a recognized University.
  • Diploma from The Kenya School of Law.
  • Arbitration and CPS qualifications will be an added advantage.
  • Minimum of 7 Years practical experience as an In-house Legal Counsel in a busy business environment.
  • Working Knowledge of Project Finance.

The Procurement Officer is responsible for effectively manage the purchasing and supplies management functions through the application of professional procurement and inventory management practices to maximise value from externally sourced products and services.

Duties and Responsibilities

Background

United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women (UN Women) Country Office in the East and Horn of Africa, including Kenya focus on addressing issues of women's poverty, violence against women (VAW) and governance in post conflict situation and in peace through initiating and supporting mechanisms and processes that call for accountability of duty bearers to the principles of gender equality and women's Human rights; contributing to the increase of women's security in both the private and public sphere; and providing concrete support to women's organizations and networks.

UN Women is seeking a Planning, Monitoring, Evaluation and Reporting Officer (PME & R Officer) to support the Kenya country office in ensuring that results are well articulated in the programme development processes; results are tracked and documented; and that both internal and external reports capture the actual changes that are happening as a result of the UN Women initiatives. Special emphasis of the monitoring process will be on monitoring qualitative changes based on the theory of change stated in the programme design.

Qualifications
  • Advanced degree in Gender or women's studies, social sciences, international relations, or a related field
  • A minimum of 7 years experience in monitoring, evaluation and results-based management
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in reporting (internal and donors) using results based management principles
  • Demonstrated knowledge of bilateral and multirateral donors reporting requirements
  • Demonstrated experience of assessing progress and sustainability of projects/ programmes of identifying timely corrective action
  • Demonstrated experience of building and maintain a reliable M&E database on the status of project implementation, delivery, evaluations and reporting
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience of supporting capacity of the partner organizations in the 3 areas of planning, M&E and reporting
  • Experience of evaluating the effective and efficient use of project inputs and impact.
  • Experience of working in teams and coordinating with project/programme personnel located in distant offices
  • Experience of producing M&E Guidelines, frameworks, training material
  • Demonstrated experience in capturing learning and documenting knowledge
