Our client large multinational financial organization based in Nairobi (Kenya) seeks:

1. Chief Financial Officer

Responsibilities and duties
  • Work with the CEO on the strategic vision including fostering and cultivating stakeholder relationships
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in similar or comparable functions.
  • Prepare and monitor the budgets
  • Participate in developing new business, specifically: assist the
  • CEO in identifying new funding opportunities,
Competencies and skills
  • Excellent accounting knowledge including US GAAP
  • Good knowledge of corporate finance and experience in fundraising, transaction structuring
  • International business exposure and experience at senior management level
2. Chief Credit Analyst

Responsibilities and duties:
  • Set up and Manage a portfolio of guarantees and facility administration
  • Strategy planning, reporting and analysis of the portfolio.
Competence and skills:
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in bank financing and business development (specifically SME), including 4 years in a management role.
  • Sound understanding of and broad experience in facility administration procedures, debt securities, credit documentation and credit risk management practices.
  • Broad knowledge and understanding of insurance, guarantee and bonding facilities.
3. Internal Controller

Responsibilities and duties
  • To determine the adequacy of the institution’s systems of internal control and the degree of compliance with internal controls, policies, procedures, regulations, and laws.
  • Plans and conduct financial, operational, and compliance audits in compliance with internal auditing standards
Competence and skills
  • Deep knowledge of region and global trends in the financial markets as well as an understanding of the key macroeconomic drivers
  • Good accounting knowledge including US GAAP
  • At least 4 years experience within the audit, financial sector.
  • Reporting to the CEO and functionally to the Board of Director.

Roads 2000 Logo and Moto Design Competition


The Ministry of Roads, through the Kenya Roads Board (KRB), Kenya Rural Roads Authority (KeRRA), Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) and the Kenya Urban Roads Authority (KURA) is finalizing the Roads 2000 Strategic Plan for the period 2010- 2017.

The Strategic Plan is being developed with support from the International Labour Organization (ILO).

The Roads 2000 Strategy is an approach to road construction, maintenance and management, that ensures optimum utilisation and development of locally available resources wherever they are technically and economically feasible and in a socially responsive and environmentally sustainable manner.

The local resources include labour, construction materials, contractors and consultants.

A more detailed description of the Roads 2000 Strategy can be obtained from the KRB’s offices located in the address given at the end of this advert. The description can also be viewed and downloaded from KRB’s website (www.krb.go.ke). This advert is also available and can be downloaded from the same website.

Towards the definition of an image and brand for the Roads 2000 Strategy, Kenya Roads Board wishes to develop a logo and motto for the Roads 2000 Strategy, through a competition open to the general public.

Interested persons are invited to participate in the competition by designing a logo and a motto which best interpret the Roads 2000 Strategy. The motto should be limited to four words.

The competition will be open from 19th October 2011 to 15th November 2011.

The best three entries will be rewarded in Kenya shillings, as indicated here below.

- Best entry 100,000.00

- 1st Runner up 75,000.00

- 2nd Runner up 50,000.00

The following terms and conditions will apply
  1. The competition is open to the general public
  2. Any material, graphic, software or otherwise submitted by the entrant in the competition, shall belong to and remain the property of the Kenya Roads Board.
  3. A panel of experts will be appointed to evaluate the submissions and select the best three entries
  4. The decision by the panel of experts will be final
  5. KRB will communicate the outcome of the competition to all entrants.
The logo and motto design shall be enclosed in a plain sealed envelope, marked “COMPETITION FOR LOGO AND MOTFO DESIGN FOR ROADS 2000 STRATEGY - DO NOT OPEN BEFORE OPENING DAY” and be posted, submitted or delivered to:

Programme Assistant - WWF Kenya Country Office - Nairobi, Kenya


WWF - The global conservation organization, Kenya Country Office (KCO), is seeking to recruit a:

Programme Assistant

To be based in Nairobi, Kenya.

Under the supervision of the Conservation Manager, the Programme Assistant will provide technical and policy support to the conservation programme.

S/he will be expected to assist project managers in project planning as well as monitoring and evaluation of progress and reporting of the same.

Major duties will include but not limited to: 
  • monitoring by taking the lead in the design and implementation of a monitoring framework to track delivery against KCO goals and objectives;
  • take lead in the analysis of data collected under the monitoring framework for assessment of progress and areas for improvement;
  • provide regularly updated reports to the Conservation Manager on the status of implementation against KCO goals and objectives;
  • provide legal and policy support to the functions of the WWF-KCO Conservation Manager especially on the review of the Wildlife Bill, development of a CBNRM policy, forests policy, general environmental law and policies thereof;
  • assist the Conservation Manager in tracking, consolidating and forwarding of project progress technical reports to WWF International and/or the relevant National Organizations and donors;
  • in close liaison with the Conservation Manager, maintain regular contact with WWF donors and respond to queries and special requests from and within the WWF Network;
  • take lead in M&E training activities for KCO Project staff, including WWF Standards (PPMS) workshops;
  • ensure liaison with field projects and when necessary arrange field supervisory and supportive visits;
  • ensure compliance to reporting schedules and network standards, both internal and external, for all projects and conservation activities.
The incumbent must possess:
  • a University degree in the field of policy/law or natural sciences (conservation, environment, natural resource management, marine, forestry, fisheries, terrestrial ecology, animal sciences);
  • at least 3 years professional experience in project/programme management and/or support role;
  • excellent knowledge of the natural resources related policies, development and conservation community in Kenya;
  • skills in project proposal writing and M&E;
  • excellent written and oral communications skills;
  • possession of reasonable organisational and analytical skills;
  • strong vocational interest in nature conservation;
  • a working knowledge of financial management, especially of projects;
  • excellent inter-personal skills, with the ability to network and to develop and maintain strong relationships with field staff;
  • adaptable, flexible, able to take initiative and prioritize among competing demands;
  • good computer knowledge;
  • adherence to WWF’s values, which are: Optimistic, Engaging, Determined and Knowledgeable;
