Action Africa Help Uganda: AAH-U, a non-profit making agency that implements health and development projects in Uganda, seeks to recruit dynamic, innovative development leaders for the following vacancies:
Job title: Bodyworks Mechanic
(01 position)
Duty Station: Adjumani
Job Summary: To check the vehicle body conditions of AAH I vehicle and equipment regularly; to ensure programme activities run smoothly in line with AAH I policies.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Make assessment, repair and perform general maintenance on all vehicles
- Inspect vehicles brought to the workshop for panel beating and repair works
- Report irregularities and equipment abuse to the Workshop supervisor for corrective action to be instituted in line with AAH Uganda guidelines.
- Prepare annual workshop equipment inventory reports in line with reporting guidelines.
- Tune up engines, ignition parts, clean and adjust carburettors, perform minor body repairs and respond to breakdowns.
- Perform preventative maintenance and make inspections of vehicles for proper working order and safe operation.
- Prepare and submit vehicle repair/maintenance monthly reports in line with the AAH I Vehicle Policy.
- Perform any other duties as may be assigned from time to time
Qualifications
- Mechanics Grade II
- Certificate level 4 in motor vehicle/craft technician course
- At least 4 years work in a busy motor vehicle workshop as a body repair mechanic
- Clean national driver’s license
- Ordinary level certificate
Skills and Competencies
- High level of integrity
- Good report writing skills
- Moderate computer skills
